If I had a nickel for every time a movie based on Don Quixote came out in 2020… It’s not much, but it would be weird to have it happen twice.
If it has one redeeming quality, it’s the depiction of Spain’s mountains, which look absolutely gorgeous
Overall, the film is not pleasing to the eye, has a CGI style with inconsistent character designs; The fact that the 2D concept art in the credits is so lifelike makes this a huge sin. Some odd creative decisions include the pansies being scientists, one of the henchmen with a strangely swollen neck, and three imaginary rabbits.
spoil The film has an environmentalist message, but I guess because it was anti-xenophobic
It’s a shaky frame rate that has no effect on the plot and makes the movements look awkward and unnatural. The villain is a typical cliché and doesn’t seem to live up to how ruthless a scene the story has given him.
